Flue insulation and cement
Technical insulation is essential for ensuring the safe, efficient, and long-lasting operation of chimneys and flues. In this category, you will find specialized materials for the repair, sealing, and thermal insulation of masonry chimneys, which improve draught and protect against the formation of condensation and tar.
How to Choose the Right Technical Insulation for a Chimney?
To renovate an old masonry chimney or to ensure the safety of a newly installed system, it is important to use the right technical insulation materials. They not only fill the empty cavities between the chimney liner and the chimney walls but also perform several important functions: they improve thermal insulation, increase system safety, and extend its service life.
Main Products and Their Purpose
In our assortment, you will find two main products for chimney maintenance and renovation:
- Vermiculite (Loose-fill Thermal Insulation Material):
- Properties: This is an extremely lightweight, loose-fill, non-combustible mineral with excellent heat and sound insulation properties. It is resistant to very high temperatures (up to +1200°C), does not rot, and is resistant to pests.
- Purpose: In construction, vermiculite is used to fill the gap between the chimney liner and the chimney walls. This improves the chimney's draught, allows it to reach operating temperature faster, and significantly reduces the accumulation of tar and soot on the liner's walls.
- Technoseal (Special Repair Cement):
- Properties: This is a special cement mixture which, when mixed with water, becomes a mass for sealing leaky masonry chimneys.
- Purpose: Used for repairing chimneys "from the inside" when cracks or leaks have appeared in the chimney walls or joints. It ensures the channel is reliably sealed and safe.
Why Is It Important to Use Technical Insulation?
- Improved Draught: An insulated chimney heats up faster, which improves the draught and makes the heating appliance operate more efficiently.
- Reduced Condensation and Soot: Due to the higher temperature of the chimney, less condensation, tar, and soot accumulate, which simplifies maintenance and increases safety.
- Safety: A properly sealed and insulated chimney is safer to use.
Properly selected technical insulation products are an important investment in the efficiency and safety of your heating system. We invite you to explore our offered products.
