How to Choose the Right Flue Liner?
Over time, old masonry chimneys can lose their tightness, and their inner walls can begin to deteriorate due to the effects of condensation and combustion products. A flexible stainless steel liner is a reliable and durable solution that allows for the renovation of a damaged chimney and adapts it for modern heating appliances. Due to their flexibility, these liners are easy to install even in uneven, curved chimney channels.
Main Liner Types and Their Purpose
In our assortment, you will find two main types of RE-Form® INOX liners, adapted for different fuel types and needs:
- RE-Form® INOX-D (Double-Walled Liners):
- Purpose: This is a robust, double-walled (2x0.10 mm) liner primarily intended for chimneys connected to solid fuel boilers, fireplaces, and stoves. It can also be used for oil and gas-fired boilers.
- Design: Made of two layers of acid-resistant stainless steel (EN 1.4404), which is corrugated and seamed together.
- Temperature Resistance: Up to +850°C.
- RE-Form® INOX-E (Single-Walled Liners):
- Purpose: This single-walled (1x0.12 mm) liner is intended for use as condensation protection in fully intact masonry chimneys connected to gas or liquid fuel boilers. It can also be used as an exhaust pipe or in ventilation systems with special requirements.
- Design: Made of a single layer of acid-resistant stainless steel (EN 1.4404), corrugated and seamed.
- Temperature Resistance: Up to +850°C.
What to Consider When Choosing?
- Fuel Type: This is the most important criterion. For solid fuels (wood, coal, briquettes), choose the more robust INOX-D liner. For gas or liquid fuel boilers, the INOX-E liner is sufficient.
- Chimney Condition: INOX-D is designed for the repair of damaged, leaking chimneys. INOX-E is used only in fully intact chimneys as protection against condensation.
- Diameter: Select the liner diameter based on the technical requirements of the heating appliance, the fuel type, and the chimney height. It is always recommended to consult with the heating appliance manufacturer or a chimney sweep.
- Installation: Important! Before and after the liner installation, the work must be inspected and approved by a qualified chimney sweep.
A properly selected chimney liner is an investment in the safety, efficiency, and longevity of your heating system. Browse our assortment and, if you have any questions, contact our specialists who will help you find the best solution.
