LEGIONELLOSIS CASES AND, UNFORTUNATELY, DEATHS FROM IT ARE INCREASING IN LITHUANIA. HOWEVER, THERE IS A SOLUTION TO AVOID THIS. A SCANDINAVIAN-TESTED AND APPROVED INNOVATION HAS REACHED THE LITHUANIAN MARKET – LEGIOTERM® DEVICES.

LegioTerm® are Norwegian devices designed to remove Legionella and other bacteria from water. We can forget the popular, yet minimally effective, thermal disinfection of pipework using extremely hot water: choosing the LegioTerm® method reduces the risk of Legionella formation to a minimum, equally reducing the costs of preventive measures.

WHAT'S THE SECRET TO ITS EFFECTIVENESS? The core of LegioTerm®'s effectiveness lies in the anodic oxidation method, invented 15 years ago. The Norwegian company TermoRens AS, which began its successful business several decades ago manufacturing biodegradable cleaning agents for heating and plumbing systems under the same name, introduced the next-generation Legionella removal equipment, LegioTerm®, five years ago. Its operation is based precisely on this anodic oxidation method. This means bacteria are eliminated without the use of heavy metals, chemicals, or other biocides.

SIMPLE, SAFE, HIGHLY EFFECTIVE, AND AFFORDABLE

Unlike the most common methods for combating Legionella, anodic oxidation acts preventively: a LegioTerm® unit installed on the main cold water inlet destroys Legionella before they can enter the building's plumbing system! The system recovers its original efficiency, and operating costs are reduced, as periodic thermal disinfection or expensive chemical cleaning agents are no longer required.

According to Thore Andreassen, CEO of TermoRens AS, monitoring of LegioTerm® devices over the past five years in over a thousand buildings confirms that Legionella is effectively eliminated. This is shown by the results of regular Legionella sampling.

In Norway, the investment in LegioTerm® devices typically pays for itself within an average of two years. Moreover, this new technology has no adverse effects on pipes or heating equipment!

Innovative LegioTerm devices are widely used across Scandinavia: in hospitals, senior residences, sanatoriums, spas, schools, kindergartens, sports centers, offices, hotels, and apartment buildings. Many leading engineering firms, including Caverion, COWI, Norconsult, and Sweco, specify these units in their projects, recognizing them as the most effective means currently available for combating Legionella.

However, this isn't the only standout innovative product from TermoRens AS. The company also manufactures a pipe system cleaning fluid that effectively removes rust and limescale deposits. These deposits hinder heat and cold transfer in heating and cooling systems and reduce the water flow rate through pipes. Removing scale and rust from pipe walls significantly inhibits the conditions favourable for Legionella growth within the pipework. Results from years of using the TermoRens cleaning fluid and gel in many countries confirm its effectiveness: it is non-toxic, biodegradable, and highly efficient.
